Why do we keep our watches?

Open your drawer of planer and you probably have some watches which were inside there for 10,15, or more years. They are probably broken, or perhaps they have need right for a new battery. But, why do we keep them? I have certainly some of them. That Casio was broken during at least 10 years and was matched with me while I moved houses at least 6 times.

While I listened to the life on ground this week they had a segment about the project of 1000 watches. From their Web page we learn about their project:

With the arrival of the cellphones, wrist watches

die a slow death. But it is difficult (if not impossible) to throw yours

old wrist watch even if it is broken. Is it because when it was carried it was almost an integral part of the body? Does it represent one important moment in its life?

I hear this all time: the younger generation do not use wrist watches. The fact is that the wrist watch is more convenient than the cellphone. Here some reasons which I think that the wrist watch will not go the manner of the watch of pocket:

When you are at a meeting of businesses it is easier to steal a glance to your watch than to your cellphone without the preliminary communication, or making with somebody estimate it that you have something more important to make. There is not a great number of accessories which a man can use. It can put bonds of cuff above, a ring or two, perhaps a simple chain around the neck, it could use attach-TAC or a pin of reverse, but the watch is more the communal ground and the majority of allowed form of personal expression for a man. They mark time. That the last could seem obvious, but just as people have a difficulty of throwing their old wrist watches, they will have a difficulty of giving them to the top of all together. We seem to be fixed at our watches. Why can’t I throw the numerical watch $2 which I bought in Peru? or shows it silver dollar which I bought in the college? or did my watch of way of college I receive when I were elder in the college? These watches mark time. Times in our lives, events, occasions, and they are liked.

The thousand projects of watch try to preserve thousand wrist watches and their stories. You could appreciate watch 499, watch 470, watch 482, watch 411, or shows it 395

Dig deeply in your drawer of planer and find a watch which you did not use in years. About it say to me, and if you feel thus tilted to give it to the project of 1000 watches, even if the wrist watch does not disappear in the past.

P.S. if your watch is as interesting as the watch 499 you can give it me to the place and I will give something of my box of watch to the project of 1000 watches. If you would like to see very who is in my box of watch you can check my album of facebook.

Divide and appreciate:
