Review – Torgoen T2
Torgoen makes a line of the professional pilot watches which considerably less sell stopwatches than standard of quartz and has to name and a utility which competes some of the larger houses. T2 is a register 4 stopwatch with the 1/10, second, and 30 timers minute with the functionality of slit and covering. Add on a mounting of rule slide of fight computer and you have one gaining.
Like Sandoz, Torgoen employs a movement of ETA G15.211 inside a stainless steel case assembled in Switzerland. The result is a mixture accessible from precision and quality which with the great feeling of wrist and is rather slightly to hide under a jacket and a whip of bomber outside for periods of extreme coercion while controlling a biplane above the Pacific. The face is well projected, so of the not very occupied hands and lumed is of extremely readable lower part almost all the luminous levels. The dead darkness transforms this majestic fight computer into quartz watch with the nice lume, but if all your instruments leave on board impeccable goose, you do not need to carry out fast calculations of exchange in any event thus the use of the fight computer is debatable.
T2 has two knurled push rods with 2 and 4 hours and a crown with three positions knurled with the date with fast congelation. The push rods and the crown are easy to handle and the knurled offers of mounting little resistance in rotation but will not be accidentally struck out of the place. 12 hours are marked by an icon of RATE to evaluate speed in marine miles and there is a small window of date at 4 a.m. it is difficult to see that under an angle. T2 that we examined had a silver plated white face and a black Italian leather signed the band.
The movement is crunching and the rapid return is excellent. The crystal is inserted in inclined mounting, offering great sights of the external register at the expense of the interior register. In a general way, the face is a little occupied and certain smaller registers are blocked by the meticulous hand of sword at the odd hours. The police force used for the interior register was too BOLD, losing part of the elegance which could have made with this a more readable watch.
Finally, Torgoen filled vacuum in a world where Breitling average BlingMaster and an elegant IWC is out of the average scale of price of pilots of Cessna (unless the theyre on Colombia with the race of Baja, but it is a different history). T2 also comes with a band from black face and brown, but silver plated/black compound we tested were very serious and attracting without being sumptuous.
Evaluated like a beater and equipped like a champion, T2 de Torgoen is a pleasant surprise in a field of the watches which are also as impressive and as expensive as the fuel for engines.
